Our ASSOCIATION
WCA is a not-for-profit community association located in the Mount Vernon District of Fairfax County, Virginia. The Association represents the interests of families who live in the Wellington neighborhoods between Dyke Marsh and Collingwood Road, nestled between Fort Hunt Road and the Potomac River.
The WCA Board and its members ensure the comprehensive well-being of our neighborhood — from engaging elected leaders on issues that directly impact our residents to fostering a genuine sense of community through social events. Tightly connected neighborhoods boost psychological well-being, promote safer streets, encourage time outdoors, and even lead to lives saved during emergency events!
All homeowners and home renters within the WCA boundary are eligible for membership and can support us by voluntarily paying $25 in annual dues and I urge you to become a member. Your membership enables WCA to provide the following resources and support services:
- Quarterly meetings and newsletters to inform residents of pressing issues (e.g., zoning ordinances, infrastructure proposals, public education policies, etc.) directly relevant to our community.
- Bi-Annual Printed WCA Directory - WCA produces a printed directory with the support of local advertisers every two years. .
- Representation at the Mount Vernon Council of Citizens Associations (MVCCA), a consortium of Mount Vernon property associations. The Council takes positions on issues of concern to its members, which it presents to elected representatives and government entities including the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, School Board, Planning Commission, Virginia General Assembly and Virginia Department of Transportation.
- A calendar of social events throughout the year to bring residents of all ages together. Popular events have included Easter Egg Hunts, 4th of July Parades, Fall Festivals, Chili Cook-Offs, Curated Wine Tastings, and more!
